The Jeffrey Modell Foundation’s “Roots & Wings” program was created to support families of children diagnosed with a life-threatening Primary Immunodeficiency who require lifesaving medical care far from home. The Program offers travel assistance Wings and support for related expenses Roots to alleviate the financial burden of accessing specialized care.
The Roots & Wings program changes lives and gives life.
Roots & Wings Testimonial
At six months old, my son was diagnosed through genetic sequencing with a very rare Primary Immunodeficiency disease called IPEX. We quickly learned that he would require a bone marrow transplant. Thankfully our immunologist was a Jeffrey Modell Centers Network doctor, and he was able to contact a partnering hospital, where they accepted my son to be admitted and eventually transplanted. The partnering hospital was willing to perform the bone marrow transplant through their humanitarian aid program. With the support of the Jeffrey Modell Foundation’s Roots & Wings program, we were able to travel overseas for my son’s life saving transplant. Today my son is 6 years old and attends school. I want to thank the Jeffrey Modell Foundation from the bottom of my heart for their generous help. God bless you always, and please continue to help more families, especially children like my son. THANK YOU!
