Exercise, Diet, and Our Immune System

Your immune system works hard 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to protect you from bacteria, infections, germs, and more! People living with Primary Immunodeficiency are sick more often than others and may experience frequent infections that impact their quality of life. 

So, what can you do to help keep your immune system healthy and strong? Here are a few ways to enhance your overall health and well-being:

  • Focus on a balanced diet. It’s important to eat a healthy diet, including lots of fruits and vegetables. Good nutrition gives you energy and may help to prevent future infections. 
  • Exercise regularly. Physical activity is a great way to maintain a well-rounded lifestyle!
  • Stay hydrated. One of the simplest ways to feel better is by drinking plenty of water every day. 
  • Get a good night’s sleep. Being well-rested will only help to improve your overall well-being!

All of these factors play a role in contributing to your general health! Remember, your physician should always be your number one resource for health-related questions or concerns.
